Responsibilities
  • Works under the supervision of the Department of Public Health
  • Enforcement & inspection work in enforcing all relevant state & federal statutes and town bylaws as they relate to the control and regulations of common and exotic domestic livestock within the town
  • Conducts annual inspections of domestic livestock and livestock barns to ensure the adequate care and housing of such livestock
  • Assists police in the apprehension of loose livestock
  • Investigates complaints regarding domestic livestock & cruelty to animal notifications
  • Issues animal disease quarantines in the case of a report of disease or livestock bites to humans
